A LOT of my heart goes into sharing this part of my story with you today…
I have never opened up about this before so here it goes….
I grew up in an extremely unstable environment and because of that I started drinking and using drugs at a very young age, 11 years old to be exact. I totaled my Mom’s car from drunk driving at age 13. I was smoking a pack of cigarettes a day by age 13. I was shipped off to various rehabs and facilities because I was out of control, and my mom didn’t know what to do with me. There’s so much more to my story, but that is the base of it for now. This is not meant to be a sad story at all…I wouldn’t change a second of my past. I use it as motivation and inspiration to always move forward!
Growing up, I would have never ever believed that—
…I could ever be a mama to 4 healthy and happy kids.
…I could ever take my health seriously.
…I could ever pour all of my passion, energy, and time into helping women feel healthy, happy, and safe in their bodies through movement in yoga, health coaching, and hemp wellness.
The thoughts of helping others felt like an impossibility growing up because I couldn’t help myself. I often felt hopeless and didn’t care about my future or the outcome of my life.
From age 11 to when I got pregnant with my first baby at 19, I was addicted to drugs and alcohol. I was addicted to how it all made me feel; it was my absolute escape from the emptiness I felt, and I escaped a scary amount.
When I found myself pregnant with my first baby, I realized that drugs and alcohol could no longer be so prevalent in my life. I was determined to give my kids all the things I didn’t have, and I have worked really hard on making sure my kids felt/feel loved, worthy and safe.
I have evolved and grown so much over the past 20+ years. I know how important it is to feel healthy and have the tools to remain healthy. I find so much joy and purpose in sharing all of the things I do on a daily basis to feel like the best version of me because I want you to feel like the best version of you!
Thanks for letting me share!
